On the night of November 12, 2019 Venice was hit by a series of floods that submerged the city for a week. Starting from the images of his home and his studio flooded the director tells firsthand what it means to live day by day with high water and how his city faces catastrophe. The result is a reflection on living in the forefront of climate change which threatens to make our world disappear.
On the occasion of the anniversary of the extreme natural events that took place in the lagoon last year and as part of the launch of the AquaGranda project, Thursday, November 12 at 6:00 p.m., the documentary by Giovanni Pellegrini "La Città delle Sirene" will be screened on Ginko Film's Youtube channel and on the Science Gallery Venice website.
From 6 p.m. and throughout the night of November 12, the open windows on the city of D3082 will host the projection of some excerpts from "The city of mermaids" selected by the author Giovanni Pellegrini.At the same time as the online vision, this story will come to life on the skin of the city, giving substance to the narrative of this event in one of the places of culture and living in Venice.D3082- Domus Civica Acisjf is an exhibition space and student residence. One of the many places to have suffered the devastation of the "great water", a piece of the city and the collective memory that makes up the memory of that night.
